An Aromatic Autumn Is it just me, or are Americans preoccupied with holiday flavors? Consider pumpkin spice for example. Towards the end of summer coffee shops add to the menu their pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin cheesecake can be found on the dessert menus at restaurants, and pumpkin beers are offered on tap and in liquor stores. I suppose there's something about these flavors that moves us into the holiday spirit. Other flavors that become more fashionable are apple, caramel, cinnamon, peppermint, and gingerbread, to name a few. I guess there's something unique about keeping these rich, warm tastes for this time of year. It brings us something to look forward to as the weather gets colder and we begin to spend more time in the house. Have you ever considered where these flavors came from? Take cinnamon for instance... Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka, previously called Ceylon and can be linked back to 2800 B.C. Birth Truly Is The Gift Of Life
A few days ago I received great news... I am going to be an auntie (again)! One of my lifelong friends just learned that she's expecting a baby and in about six months we will all be welcoming a little baby into this world. The minute she broke the news to me I started thinking about a baby shower, welcome gift ideas, and all the gadgets, diapers and outfits that this Child is going to have to have. I started looking on the internet for presents to welcome a new babe and I discovered the Bearington Baby collection from Bearington Bear. Bearington Bear has been around for 14 years and in that brief time they have won more design awards and nominations than any other teddy bear manufacturer. Not only are their products classy and cuddly, but they are made to last. This caught my interest immediately. I don't think there's anything more important to a baby than their favorite teddy bear or security blanket. Often, by the time the child turns six, the teddy or blankie which they've hung on to since birth is so used that it becomes an eyesore that mom would rather not keep around. This is a shame when you consider all the wonderful memories these cuddly items bring to mind. Not to mention the security they give to the little child. I believe that spending a little more on a stuffed animal that will last much longer is worth every dollar.

Saying Thanks Is A Gift In It
As the leaves start to transform and fall from the trees and the air cools warning of the coming of winter, we put away our bathing suits and tank tops and get out our hats and boots. While the chilly drop in temperature may be a welcome change from the heat of summer, it also reminds us that the days are getting shorter and we will be spending much more time inside hibernating. Some folks consider autumn their favorite season and it does create many opportunities for festivity and a chance for us to spend time with friends and family as we find shelter inside your home and seek out ways to occupy ourselves and keep our spirits high. When we think of autumn we think of pumpkins, turkeys, red, orange, and yellow leaves, and harvest festivals. As the outside world wilts for the days of cold ahead, we celebrate life in hopes that we may continue to be blessed in the days ahead. We celebrate the gifts of the harvest and give thanks for our many blessings. Putting aside the vacations and weekend excursions of summer, we prepare ourselves for a gloomier onset of winter by crafting joy in a time when it is tougher to find in our surroundings. The winter months are known as the 'holidays,' but the holidays really begin with Halloween and Thanksgiving, traditions which have been around for hundreds of years which allow us to assemble with friends and find satisfaction in life. This fall, show appreciation for those you are thankful for by delivering them a autumn themed gift basket such as Colorado Wine Gift Basket. Say Congratulations Graduates!
Graduation is a significant life event for anyone. Whether graduating from associate's program or earning a major certificate, graduation is an accomplishment worth commemorating. In the United States, about 57% of the population between the ages of 3 and 34 are enrolled in some form of instruction. Whether attending nursing school, medical school, or middle school, these individuals are taking action toward a brighter future. Of this 57%, only some will actually complete high school and then of course postsecondary institutions as well. In 2009, 8.1% of High School Students dropped out of class before graduating. Of those who had started out as Freshman in the class of 2006, around 75% graduated. When observing Postsecondary Schools, the percentage of pupils who graduate are even smaller. In 2001, 38% of eligible students of 2 year institutions graduated together with 65% from 4 year establishments. This shows that it takes hard work and determination to achieve an education and this is why we should commend those who see it through. A friend of mine recently tranferred from Rhode Island to Colorado to complete his education in a very different part of the country. He is lucky enough to attend a university with a few campuses across the county which allows him to transfer his credits freely from one state to the next. He did not move because he was unhappy with the campus in Rhode Island or in order to find a new social scene. His only reason for moving to Colorado was so that his family in California could go to his graduation ceremony. My friend is from a large Mexican family and he is the first among them to graduate from university. For his family this is a huge accomplishment. He will not only be surrounded by loved ones and lots of great food, but he can anticipate the charity of gifts. Gift giving is an important part of any graduation celebration, because it gives family and friends an opportunity to tell the graduate that they are proud of them. Giving gifts is a way of showing that you support what the graduate is doing for their future as they arrange for their future. Did you know that Father's Day has officially only been around since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to eventually make it an official holiday. Sonora Smart was the first person to propose Father’s Day to celebrate her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then proposed to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Today Father's Day is celebrated on a wide variety of dates around the world and typically involves giving gifts, extraordinary dinners to dads, and family-oriented activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church sporting a rose: a red rose to celebrate a living father, and a white rose to recognize a deceased one. Oddly enough enough Father's Day was in danger of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with eagerness, Father's Day was often met with snickering. Not all fathers are alike!

Treats and Sweets For Kids
Few things are as beautiful as a child’s anticipation on Christmas morning. I recall running down the stairs as soon as I awoke and shaking my parents awake, asking them if we could open our gifts from Santa. Despite the fact that the gifts were always different from year to year, the traditions never changed. One of the best Christmas traditions was always the sweets and baked goods I would come across in my stocking and in the kitchen, which was toasty and pleasant from all the baking. Because of this, Mother’s Day is celebrated in February in Norway and on December 22nd in Indonesia, with many other dates in between celebrated by other people. One of the practices of Mother’s Day is to give your mother a present along with positive wishes as a way to honor her. If you live near by (and are seeing your mom regularly!) you most likely have a good idea what to buy her. Then again, those of us that don’t live in the area can be at a entire loss. It's as though the art of giving thanks has been lost over time. Posting a personalized thank you note was at one time habitual for both professional and personal occasions, but now most people presume it's enough to offhandedly send an email with a quick "thanks" before returning to their active day to day lives. Now don't get me wrong. I know that the world is more fast paced than it was at one time and many people scarcely have time to rest and catch a break, but thinking about it, that only gives you all the more reason to send a heart felt thank you. Considering we've become less accustomed to receiving a formal thank you, it makes a much greater impression when we do receive one. It honestly is a nice surprise to see someone took the time to say "thanks." I haven’t even mentioned the influence it can have on your business. By taking a moment to send a personalized thank you, you can express to your customer how significant their business is to you. By building personal relationships with your clients, you are ensuring their confidence and giving them a reason to conduct business with you instead of your competitors. If I haven't managed to convinced you that sending a thank you gift or note is worth the effort, why not contemplate sending something that takes very little time at all? Well the bunny is a well know sexual symbol of fertility. Religions affiliated with Babel connect the rabbit with periodicity, both human and lunar. The Mother Goddess Semiramis (Easter) is associated with the moon. Therefore, the Easter bunny represents the Mother Goddess and is related with once a year Spring time fertility rituals worshiping the Mother Goddess. Painted Easter eggs are a part of the festivities too that came from the egg which was a religious symbol among the Babylonians.
